setup instructions to run the code on your machine:
|
||||||
|
1. Clone the repository using git clone.
|
||||||
|
2. Make sure you have already installed and configured the following on your machine:
|
||||||
|
Java
|
||||||
|
MySQL
|
||||||
|
Redis
|
||||||
|
Maven
|
||||||
|
3. Create a new MySQL database for the project using CREATE DATABASE petclinic;
|
||||||
|
4. Update the database configuration in the application.properties file located at src/main/resources with your MySQL database details:
|
||||||
|
spring.datasource.url=jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/petclinic?useSSL=false&serverTimezone=UTC
|
||||||
|
spring.datasource.username=your_username
|
||||||
|
spring.datasource.password=your_password
|
||||||
|
5. Update the Redis configuration in the same application.properties file:
|
||||||
|
spring.redis.host=localhost
|
||||||
|
spring.redis.port=6379
|
||||||
|
6. Build the project: run the following command from the project root directory:
|
||||||
|
mvn clean install
|
||||||
|
7. Run the project:
|
||||||
|
mvn spring-boot:run
|
||||||
|
8. Open http://localhost:8080 to access the Pet Clinic application.
|
||||||
|
9. To view the dashboard showing the number of owners in a selected city and the number of cities in the database, navigate to http://localhost:8080/dashboard.
|
||||||
|
|
||||||
|
|
||||||
|
Now you should be able to run the Pet Clinic application on your machine.
